Cloud Native Java EE
Java EE and cloud native technology — this doesn't really sound like a good fit. Or does it? Is it possible to develop scalable, resilient, cloud native, twelve-factor Java Enterprise applications? And if so, how much integration and “plumbing” is needed?
This sessions shows why Java Enterprise developers should care about cloud native, 12-factor applications, resilience, and scalability. It covers what it takes to implement cloud-ready, adaptive and scalable Java EE applications, which extensions are out there that help us do the job and why particularly Java EE fits the container and orchestration world. The question how to realize resilience, service discovery, scalability, monitoring and logging with Java EE will be answered. I will use modern Java EE together with Docker, Kubernetes and Prometheus. All of the time will be spent live-coding while explaining the concepts and solutions.
